Things To Do at River Hills

Hike

Take a peaceful walk on miles of wooded trails – many along the River. Keep an eye out for Osprey and other bird species, including wild turkey. There has been an otter spotted, but he’s very reclusive.

Stay

Bring your tent, camper or RV and set up by the River. If you’d rather not camp, but want to enjoy the woods and solitude, stay in our Cabin in the Woods. The Cabin has everything you will need including a double bed in the loft. The Cabin has electricity, but you will need to get water at the barn.

Float

We will transport you and your inner tubes up River so you can enjoy more fishing or a leisurely float back to the pavilion.

Horseback Trail Ride

Experience a private trail ride on one of our horses through our beautiful trails along the River. You and a friend will be able to enjoy a beautiful quiet ride with one of our experienced trail guides. Must be booked in advance.

Relax

Sit under the large, covered pavilion with cement floor and granite bar that overlooks the River or sit at one of many picnic tables next to the river. Charcoal grills are available (you will need to bring utensils, charcoal and lighter fluid).

Yoga

Refresh your spirit by taking a beginning yoga class taught by a certified yoga instructor while listening to the sounds of the River. Must be booked in advance.

Fish

Bring your fishing pole and hook a small mouth, large mouth, catfish or bluegill. (Virginia license required).
